From 21-24 January the Project Summit Team had the privilege to camp with the students from Trinity House Rand Park Ridge. The Grade 8 group travelled to Sediba Kwele, situated in the Northwest Province, where they partook in activities like Wall Climbing, Zipline, a Potjie Cook-off, a fashion show, and to put the icing on the cake they had the opportunity to visit an adjoining Lion farm.
Not too far away the Grade 9’s visited Garden of Eden where they took on the Project Summit Survivor Challenge. Here they had to compete against each other in activities such as Blind Soccer, Kleilat, Obstacle Course, and a life-size Battleship game played with water balloons. The winners were crowned Ultimate Survivors! At the same time, however, the students also did Community Service at a local school, where they did basic maintenance work to create a better learning environment for the children.
The Project Summit Team hosted an Eco-Challenge for the Grade 10 students from Trinity House at Madidaba, which is situated close to Cullinan. The students had to find the various activities by navigating with GPS’. These activities included Fire Making & Water Purification, Compass Building, Tyre Soccer, and Archery. On the last day the students relaxed next to the dam where they also had the opportunity to go Abseil and build Rafts to play on.
The Project Summit Team thoroughly enjoyed working with the students from Trinity House Rand Park Ridge and look forward to doing so in the years to come.
